Well we’ve made it through the first three days in Auckland
and it still feels surreal that this is our new home! We have already done so
much walking that most nights it feels as if our legs are going to fall off…but
it’s been a great way to see the parts of the city!

Last night we cooked dinner for the first time since
arriving here, and realized that it is WAAAAAY cheaper to do that than to go
out to eat. We’ve found that the average cost for dinner at any sit-down
restaurant is about $25-$30 NZD…although they don’t even leave you space for a
tip because it’s not required! We also grabbed a bottle of local Pinot Noir and
it was surprisingly good…although as you can see, it looks more like grape
juice than real wine!
After a yummy dinner, some wine, and watching a movie
on tv, we went to bed around 9pm…only to wake up at 4am this morning! The one
plus side is that we got to see this awesome view of the Sky Tower.
